Cases: Amazon EC2 – MAGLAB
“Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) is a web service that provides secure, resizable compute capacity in the cloud. It is designed to make web-scale cloud computing easier for developers.”
Developing an AWS Environment to Improve PoC Efficiency for IoT and AI
MAGLAB Inc. started its business in July 2017 as a provider of “Reuse PoC” specializing in IoT and AI. PoC (proof of concept) is a term for certain achievements of a method or an idea in order to demonstrate its feasibility, or to verify that some concept or theory has practical potential. Reuse PoC aims to provide research and consultations in order to successfully introduce IoT and AI to their clients.
Developing AWS Environment to Strengthen Security
The Classmethod team incorporated the solutions that captures and analyzes the traffic which is generated by the IoT / M2M inside the Reuse PoC. Our solution detects security threats and devices with unauthorized access. Classmethod combined the following services to strengthen the security; namely, Amazon Web Services (AWS), IoT platform SORACOM and Trend Micro Security VNF.
SORACOM Junction mirrors the traffics that the IoT / M2M devices generate, and sends the copied packets to the AWS via the SORACOM Canal. Amazon EC2 works with Trend Micro Security VNF to receive and analyze the copied packets. The Entry Management System (EMS) manages and sets up the copied packets. SORACOM Canal and VPC peering connection make it possible to send the copied packets securely to Trend Micro Security VNF.
For these designs, our AWS total support service “Classmethod Members” supported the development of this AWS environment pertaining to the technical aspects. In addition to building the environment, the operation monitoring was designed not only for PoC but also for the operations after the products were released.
