Classmethod Joins NVIDIA Cosmos Coalition ~ Connecting Cloud Infrastructure with Industrial Site Insights to Move Physical AI from Proof-of-Concept to Continuous Operation ~
Classmethod, Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Satoshi Yokota; hereinafter “Classmethod”) hereby announces that it has joined the NVIDIA Cosmos Coalition, a global ecosystem initiative to advance open world models.

The Cosmos Coalition is an ecosystem collaborative effort bringing together leading world model developers, AI developers, and physical AI leaders to drive the advancement of open world models across industries. Utilizing NVIDIA Cosmos world model development technologies, training tools, and cloud infrastructure for large-scale training, members will contribute models, research findings, and evaluation methodologies to the ecosystem, aiming to accelerate innovation and improve interoperability in the field of physical AI.
Through its participation in the Cosmos Coalition, Classmethod will drive the implementation of physical AI in Japanese industrial sectors, moving it forward from the demonstration stage to continuous everyday operation.
Background of Joining the Cosmos Coalition
Japan is home to numerous companies leading industrial robotics, mobility, and AI robotics, alongside diverse operational sites spanning manufacturing, logistics, and retail, as well as corporations and research institutions supporting social infrastructure.
However, transitioning physical AI from isolated proof-of-concept (PoC) projects into continuous business operations requires the development of evaluation methods, data/computing infrastructure, reference architectures, and implementation/operational know-how that can be utilized across corporate and industrial boundaries.
Classmethod’s strengths lie in the technical expertise it has cultivated through cloud integration, combined with its experience in designing and implementing systems tailored to customers’ specific business challenges. By joining the Cosmos Coalition, Classmethod will occupy the crucial implementation and operations layer that connects model developers with industrial end-users. Insights gained from customer validations will be generalized—with strict adherence to confidentiality and intellectual property rights—and contributed back to the ecosystem as evaluation methods, reference architectures, and implementation workflows optimized for Japanese industrial sites.
Classmethod’s Initiatives and Future Outlook
Starting with manufacturing environments, Classmethod will initially conduct validations to understand video and sensor data utilizing NVIDIA Cosmos and NVIDIA Metropolis Blueprint for Video Search and Summarization (VSS), linking this data with operational decision-making on the ground. Building on this foundation, Classmethod will expand its initiatives through the Cosmos Coalition across the following areas:
- Technical Validation and Information Dissemination: Classmethod will continuously conduct technical validations of Cosmos and VSS, sharing practical, Japanese-language insights through its tech media platform, “DevelopersIO,” and specialized seminars.
- Contribution to the Ecosystem: Evaluation methods and operational insights obtained through on-site validation will be shared back with the Cosmos Coalition, providing evaluation frameworks, reference architectures, and implementation workflows tailored to Japanese industrial sites.
- Co-creation with Customers: Starting with validations in the manufacturing sector, Classmethod will conduct successive PoCs with customers across a wide range of industries where physical AI has immense potential—such as logistics, retail, mobility, and infrastructure—creating new, sector-specific physical AI use cases that go beyond simple video and sensor data utilization.
- Implementation and Operational Support: Moving beyond mere PoCs, Classmethod will support the design, construction, and operation of production environments, encompassing cloud infrastructure, data pipelines, security, monitoring, and cost management.
Under its corporate philosophy of “continuously contributing to the creative activities of all people through open ideas and high technical capabilities,” Classmethod will bridge the gap between the evolution of world models and their practical application in industry, driving the deployment of physical AI that can be sustained continuously in operational environments.
NVIDIA Metropolis Blueprint for Video Search and Summarization (VSS) is a reference architecture that incorporates vision-language models such as NVIDIA Cosmos . It enables video feeds from cameras already installed in factories, warehouses, stores, traffic systems, and urban spaces to be utilized as operational data that can be searched, summarized, and analyzed.
Executive Comment
Satoshi Yokota, Representative Director, Classmethod, Inc. “Our role is to ensure that physical AI doesn’t end as a mere demonstration, but becomes fully integrated into daily on-site business operations. To achieve this, we need to design not just excellent models, but data, cloud, business processes, security, and operations as a cohesive whole. Leveraging the insights we’ve gained from cloud integration and site-driven digital transformation (DX), Classmethod connects those who build the models with those who use them. Making the knowledge gained from verification open to the public is a core part of our culture that we have cherished since our founding. By joining the Cosmos Coalition, we will advance validation and implementation together with our customers and partners, and actively share the resulting insights in a reusable format while respecting confidentiality and rights. We aim to generate world-class physical AI implementation patterns right here from Japanese industrial sites.”
